in a nutshell.

Do you ever just feel dead? Do you ever feel asleep? Do you ever feel like you’re floating by? I feel like I had an extremely dead winter, but now that we’re on the cusp of Spring I feel like I’m starting to wake up again. I want to explore, and I want to laugh, and I want to love, and I want to BE. I sound like a crazy person.
I’ve settled for a lot of things in my life but I’m starting to make decisions that I WANT again, versus decisions that I think I need. I sold my Canon Rebel to help fund my move to Seattle and bought a cheap, little digital camera. This week I decided to sell my little digital and purchase another Rebel from a friend. I have a creative personality, but feel like I’m supposed to stifle it most of the time in order to get anywhere in life. NOT ANYMORE! Being a creative person is one of the biggest blessings I could have ever asked for. We are God’s creation, and as Creation, the most praising thing we can do is, in turn, create.

I’m currently spending the week in Chicago with my oldest and dearest friend, Malori. This trip will get it’s own post. But for now…
Mal runs one of my favorite blogs, Sunday Morning Sugar. One of the lovely features she does every week is Vloggin’ Vednesday and I got to be apart of it this week. Check it out here.
Be sure to check out the rest of Mal’s blog!

It’s that time of year again, folks. Ya know… when I decide that I’m going to be an avid blogger that spouts brilliant thoughts and musings once a day. Or just writes random crap.

I’m re-reading The Great Gatsby for the millionth time right now. I love that something new sticks out to me every time I read it. My favorite quote from it (this time around) is, “There are only the pursued, the pursuing, the busy, and the tired”. I really enjoy how ambiguous this quote is and that it can be interpreted into a few things. I think it works as a double metaphor….. The pursued are busy and the pursuing are tired. It could be related to wealth or love. I think that the pursuit of Love is what is being most referenced in the context of the storyline. It fully explains the journey that Nick, Jordan, Tom, Daisy, and Gatsby are all apart of.
Are you the pursued or the pursuing?
What is your pursuit of?
